Text Moos

This week's challenge on Make a Moo or Two is Text - something I often use on my backgrounds anyway! So I used some K & Co papers for these, cut out some Crafty Individuals images and used some Tim Holtz DooDads and a couple of primas!

Erm - Louise - again!!

The challenge this week on Papertake Weekly was a sketch one, so I thought as I am way behind with my scrapbooking I would do a LO! I made this one of Louise, and even cut my own green flower out as I couldn't find one just the right shade of lime green that I was looking for!

Another of Louise!

I am working through the Elsie Flannigan 52 Scrapbooking Challenges on UKS and combined a couple as I am running behind! This one covers one challenge which was to scraplift a colour combination (I used Mellette Berezoski's blues, browns and oranges) and the second challenge was to scraplift a layout shape (I used Elsie's My Heart Belongs To).

Sparkly Emmy

The new challenge on My Time to Craft is Sparkle. I stamped Emmy from Cuddly Buddly and coloured her in with glitter gel pens, glitter glue and pearly water colours, and matted her onto hologram card, then matted some backing paper on glitter card and cut some flowers from the hologram and popped some Stickles in the centres. Unfortunately the Sparkle doesn't show up - but I can promise you it is a very sparkly card!!

Party Hats

This week's Sunday Stampers challenge is Party Hats - so I have used Cranberry, Raisin and Wild Plum Adirondack inks and rubbed them over my tag which I then spritzed with a Glimmer Mist. Then I stamped Mona and embossed her and made her a party hat with a Hampton Art stamp. I finished it off with some Dymo words, and gold Krylon edging.

Women at Work

The theme on this week's Skinny Saturday challenge is Women at Work, so I found an image of a nurse. I used backing paper and Fired Brick and Mustard Seed Distress Inks to match. I made the word 'nursing' from my Dymo, and added some other stamped bits and a couple of embellishments.

The challenge on Make a Moo or Two this week is Spring. I used Crafty Individuals backing paper and cut out some vintagey images and some Tim Holtz doodads.

First Letter First Name

The theme on Wednesday Stamper this week is First Letter First Name, so as my name is Lesley I used L! I used some backing papers on my Skinny - then stamped the word Love Letters - well ove etters - I already had a big L!! Then I used a couple of small background stamps around the skinny in Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and used an image of a lady with a letter!

Caribbean Moos

The fortnightly challenge on Craft Swap Forum Challenge Blog for Moos has been Caribbean - and I have finally made these, just in time before the next challenge goes on!

Miniature Art

The theme for Theme Thursday's challenge this week is Miniature Art - which suited me perfectly as I love making small things at the moment!

I decided to make a pair of Moos. I used a small piece of K & CO paper and rubbed over Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, then stamped some Invoke stamps on the background. I cut out some HOTP images to stick on and finished with some Tim Holtz Doodads!

Birthday Fat Page

I have a few birthdays coming up soon so here is a fat book page I have made for one of them!
I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the background, splodged with water then spritzed with a couple of Glimmer Mists and swiped a gold dabber across (I don't think that shows up too well on here). Then I stamped the Penny Black butterfly and message on separate pieces of mountboard and cut them out to put on the page. I embossed the butterfly with Tim Holtz Distress embossing powder.

Happy Easter

I run a monthly rubber stamped ATC swap on Craft Swap Forum and this month the theme is Easter.

Here is one of the atcs I have made using one of my lovely House Mouse stamps, stamped in black Versafine and coloured in with Sakura glitter pens and water colouring with Marvey Le Plumes. I then stamped round the edges with several of my tapestry stamps.

A - Z Journal - E

I am up to the letter E now in my A - Z Journal of Techniques and Materials!

It's a Shower!!

The challenge this week on Papertake Weekly is Weather with You. I thought, aha - perfect chance to use this House Mouse stamp!! I also embossed the paper with my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background, and added some glitter glue for the rain drops!

Quotes and Sayings

I set the challenge on My Time To Craft challenge blog this week, and the theme is Quotes and Sayings.

I stamped a couple of word stamps with Versamark and clear embossed them, then rubbed over the tag with Adirondack Raisin. I then stamped a Penny Black stamp, again in Raisin, and embossed it and again rubbed round it with Raisin. I completed the tag with some gold Krylon and a couple of dragonfly brads.

Laydeee Tag!

The theme on Sunday Stampers this week is I'm A Laydeeee so here is my tag for the challenge. I used Dusty Concord Distress Ink for the background and for stamping the lady and watercolouring her in, together with a bit of Work Lipstick too. I spritzed the background with a purple Glimmer Mist and stamped some other images around the sides. Then finished with a couple of primas! I think I was a bit heavy with her lipstick though!!

Card Swap

I did a card swap last week with one of my blogging sisters, Vanessa - here are our two cards. I sent the blue flower card and Vanessa sent me the lovely Tilda card!

Be Inspired Skinny

The challenge on Skinny Saturday is called Be Inspired, and we were asked to make a skinny page with a matching atc, on any theme. This reminded me of the very first fat book swap I joined a couple of years ago, where we had to make matching atcs too!

I used Pine Needles and Broken China Distress Inks for my background, which I splattered with water and spritzed with a green Glimmer Mist. I then stamped some Paper Artsy impressions around generally, clear embossing the main image on both the atc and the skinny and using Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the starfish and words. I finished it off with a couple of shell charms in the corner and a clip and fibres to hold them together!!

Numbers Inchie

The theme for this week on Inching Artists is Numbers so here is my little one inch square piece of work!! I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the background, stamped some clock images, cut out a clock image from HOTP and cut it in half, and stamped some numbers which I covered in Glossy Accents and finally edged the inchie with a gold Krylon pen!

Number Moos

The challenge this week on Make a Moo or Two is Numbers. Here are my moos! I stamped over them with all the stamps I could find that had numbers on!! Then added some HOTP images and generally inked around with Adirondack Raisin. Finally I added some brads - squishing one of them a bit too much with my Cropodile!!

Hidden Depths - Spring

There is a new fortnightly challenge on the Craft Swap Forum challenge blog called Hidden Depths - you have to fold some paper/cardstock and use 2 different techniques, one on the inside and one on the outside!

So I put a piece of yellow cardstock through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug flower embossing folder, then rubbed over it with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. For the inside, I covered it with a piece of plain paper and did some stamping using clear embossing powder, then rubbed over with several colours of Distress Inks and stamped some little springy images!

Cute Chick!

I was lucky enough to be sent the stamp for this atc by a friend and another friend loves it so much she couldn't wait to be able to get one herself - so I made and sent her an atc to keep her going until she got her own!!

Garden Album - February

Here are some February pages for my Garden Album 2008.

Green and Silver Inchie

I have not made inchies for a while, so thought I would join in with Inching Artists challenge which was to make a Green and Silver one - so here is mine! Shabby Shutters Distress Ink on the background, a stamped dragonfly in Versafine Olympia Green, a few tiny flowers stamped on the background, and finished with a Krylon pen round the edge and some silver Sakura pen on the dragonfly. It looks huge but is only one inch square!!

Tickled Pink

The new challenge on My Time To Craft this week is Tickled Pink. I made a skinny page for this, using DCWV Old World paper for the backing, then stamped and watercoloured one of my stamps I hadn't used for a while and had to hunt around to find! I cut her out and popped her on the skinny with some words etc.

Oriental

The theme for this week's Sunday Stamper is Oriental, so I have had fun making this tag using one of my favourite colours (I have lots of favourites!!) Adirondack Raisin on the main tag after I had clear embossed some oriental images. I have a feeling my oriental lettering is upside down so I apologise for that! I then stamped and embossed in gold a kimono and again coloured it with Raisin before cutting it out and popping some ribbon round it.

The new theme on Skinny Saturday challenge blog is Monday's Child based on the poem and I have made one for Thursday's child! I have used K & Co papers for backing, a downloaded image, typed the words on the computer and used some embellishments and ric rac to finish it.

Flowers

The challenge for My Time To Craft this week is Flowers, and this is the example I made for the blog.

I stamped some flower images with a Versamark ink pad and clear embossed them, then wiped over the card with Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord and Mustard Seed Distress Inks, and stamped a few little flowers in between. Then I stamped a flower image by Artistic Stamper in Distress Inks and embossed it, stamped round the edges and matted and layered it on the card together with the message.

Man!

The challenge for Sunday Stampers this week is Man Oh Man! So here is my man on a tag. The background is distress inked in Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo and Spiced Marmalade and spritzed with a Bronze Glimmer Mist. The stamp is a Tim Holtz one, and I have coloured his crown with a copper Krylon pen and edged the tag with it too.

A Nice Surprise!!

Helen very kindly passed on the You Make My Day Award to me which was a lovely surprise to log on to!! I now have to pass it on to 10 people by leaving a message on their blogs (or email) and they then pass it on to 10 more and so on. And apparently if it gets passed back to me - then that Makes My Day again which is even more fab!!

So here are the 10 I am passing it on to:

Lydia
Kazza
Pickleypoo

More Moos!

I have made my second set of Moos for the Make a Moo or Two challenge, which this week is Your Favourite Colour. I love green, so have made these using Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the background and Olympia Green Versafine for the stamping, plus a bit of Gold Krylon.
