Thank You

I thought I had best make a start on my Thank You cards, and this fits in with several challenges. I used the lovely sketch from Papertake Weekly, and also Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge and Winter Wonderland also want us to make Thank You cards. I used my Penny Black Duckling stamp and coloured him with Copics and used Funky Fairys papers for the background.

This will be my last blog posting before Christmas so I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Z-Fold Card

The new challenge on My Time To Craft is to make a card using the Z-Fold technique. I had never made one of these before and the one I did was nice and easy! I cut the large snowflake with my Cricut and the smaller ones are with an MS punch and another smaller one. The papers are DCWV and the greeting is Personal Impressions.

Christmas Banner Part 4

The final banner challenge on Ready Steady STAMP this week was to include our chosen colours, a Santa, torn paper, music score and adhesive pearls. I used my Crafty Individuals music stamp and Santa stamp for this one and embellished it in a way I hope matches the other 3! I will put them all together as soon as I can and blog them all together! This was a great challenge over the last few weeks.

12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 8

Here is my version of Tim's Day 8 tag. I changed the details a bit with the key and lampost embellishments but on the whole I am pleased with how it turned out. The smoking vellum was a bit scary when I heated it but apparently that was what it was meant to do!!

Stickeroos

I love these Penny Black Stickeroos - I can't possibly buy all the stamps I would like to and these Stickeroos are a good way to get a lot more images to use for quick cards! I needed a couple for family birthdays and don't have a lot of time at the moment so these were quick to make.

Christmas Banner Part 3

Part 3 of the Christmas Banner Challenge on Ready-Steady-STAMP is to use our chosen colours, baubles, cord, organza and dry embossing. I embossed my Snowflake Cuttlebug folder through the Big Shot and cut out some of the snowflakes with a circle punch to make my baubles, I then dabbed them with Gold Dabber and went over them with Gold Krylon. I attached them with gold cord and tied organza ribbon round the cords. I finished it off with embellishments to co-ordinate with my other banners.

12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 6

Here is my version of Tim's Day 6 tag. I don't have his car stamp or tree stamp so luckily had something fairly similar I could use! These tags seem a lot more involved this year and are taking me a while to catch up on!

12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 5

Although Tim has now completed his 12 tags, I am slowly working my way through them! Here is my version of Day 5. I had the wrong fragments for this one, I didn't have the charm ones so couldn't make mine look quite like Tim's! Also I didn't have any white rub on greetings and couldn't find my white embossing powder so had to use gold!

I is for ...

Ink. We are up to I on Linda's Alphabet Challenge Blog and this week we have to use Ink on our work. Well I always use ink so this was easy! I used Distress Ink for the background and Adirondack for stamping the ivy on my atc.

12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 4

Here is my version of Tim's Day 4 tag, a bit of a challenge as I had none of the things he used to make the little house embellishment so had to improvise completely!

12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 3

Here is my version of Tim Holtz's Day 3 Tag. This one took ages! After several attempts at making the plaid background with alcohol inks, I finally had one I liked. Then after stamping the Santa and whilst splodging Pearl Dabber around to make the snow effect, I managed to drop the brush on it leaving a very large splodge!! I was not going to start all over again, so I improvised and put a grungeboard bauble over the spot and hopefully managed to disguise it. I inked some string with Distress Inks and edged the tag with a bit of silver to pull it all together. It isn't one of my favourite ones but I had a go!

Santa

This card follows the sketch on Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge blog, plus it is for the weekly Christmas card challenge on the Magical Crafts forum which is to use a Santa. I have also entered it for my Anything Goes Challenge on Craft Swap Forum, which this month is also to use a Santa on our work, and Creative Card Crew Challenge, which is Christmas, and Stampavie which is also Christmas. I used my lovely Tim Holtz Santa stamp and coloured him with Distress Inks and Pearl Dabber for his white bits! The backing papers are HOTP and all edged with Gold Krylon.

Friday 4 December 2009

12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 2

Here is my version of Tim Holtz's day 2 tag. I don't have his metal photo corners and flowers so improvised by stamping corners and embossing in gold, and using a gold snowflake instead! Also my frame stamp is an Anna Griffin one but I think it substitutes very well! I loved flicking the Perfect Pearls around the tag - and everywhere surrounding it!!

H is for ...

House! On this week's Alphabet Challenge Blog, Linda is asking us to use a House on our work. I have made another atc for my A - Z book using a Christmas cottage stamp, inks, ripped paper for snow, and all edged with Silver krylon.

12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 1

This is his 3rd year, I made last year's ones but not the first year, I may even go back one day and do those too! Here is my version of Tim's Tag 1. If you click on it you can just about see the effect of the Rock Candy Crackle Paint!

Winter Pals

The theme on My Time To Craft is Winter Pals. I am not sure if I like this card now I have done it! It was quite a big image and I think I should have put it on a bigger card with some pp's but never mind! The image is coloured in with Copics and Marvy Le Plumes.

Last year's blue one!

I made a Matchbox Advent Calendar last year and liked it so much I have made another this year. This year's one is in reds and greens, and I used Cosmo Cricket Christmas papers and some HOTP together with some CC chipboard shapes to decorate. I think I will make one a year and build up a collection!

I am entering this for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge as I have just seen their challenge is to make a calendar, which can be an Advent Calendar!

Saturday 21 November 2009

Christmas Banner Part 2

The next challenge on Ready Steady Stamp for our banners, is to use our chosen colours, a Christmas tree, eyelets, Cut' n Dry stamping and Kraft paper. I didn't like doing the Cut 'n Dry stamping and don't think I would use it much again, I tried several objects to press my heated up piece of Cut 'n Dry into and eventually settled on a Christmas tree charm, but I am not keen! I used a Technique Tuesday tree stamp and stamp and embossed it onto some Kraft paper, adding embellishments including the eyelets, and edging everything with gold Krylon.

Friday 20 November 2009

Cute Snowman

I made this card for the Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge blog's 2nd challenge, which is to use a Santa or Snowman, something sparkly, ribbon and a Christmas flower (including holly etc). I used my new Lindsay Mason snowman stamp kindly bought for me by She, and I coloured him with Copics. I used DCWV paper and glittery card for the holly cut with a Sizzix die. I sparkled the snowman's hat and scarf and added a little silver ribbon, I think I got it all!

Christmas Banner

The project on Ready Steady STAMP for the next 4 challenges is to make a Christmas Banner, using a colour theme of our choice throughout but the ingredients given each challenge. For this one we had to use stars, glitter or gems, heat embossing and a stamped and cut out image. I have chosed to use brown/gold/red for my colour theme. I used my Stampington stamp for the image, I seem to be using it a lot lately!
