The theme on My Time To Craft this week is Elegant Rose, to use a rose image/embellishment somewhere on our work. I made my DT card using an Anita's rose stamp that I have had for ages but still get out to use from time to time! I used mulberry paper with a gold thread running through, a script stamp, and gold mirri card behind it all. Various embellishments finished the card. I am also entering this card for the Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge Blog which has a Valentine's theme this time.
I set this week's weekly Christmas Card Challenge on Magical Crafts Forum and I chose Robins as the theme. Here is my card using a Linda Luckin image, (click on the sunflower image on the right sidebar for lots more lovely images) watercoloured and Copic coloured in with silver glitter glue to finish!
It is the letter C on InchybyInch this week and I have used a Crafty Individuals stamp for my inchie, coloured it in with Copics and edged with Tea Dye Distress Ink. It doesn't look very good close up!!
Following on from the Christmas House Swap I ran on Craft Swap Forum, I am now running a Valentine House Swap. Here are the houses I have made, using Crafty Individuals stamps and Worn Lipstick and Fired Brick Distress Inks, embellishing with some lace, Primas and Liquid Pearls.
The theme on Winter Wonderland at the moment is to use the colours Burgundy and Teal on our work. I used some HOTP papers, some Coredinations cardstock in teal, and a Personal Impressions stamp that I watercoloured in and used glitter glue for the snowy bits. The snowflakes are punched with a Martha Stewart punch and Card Candy is in the centres.
We are up to M on Linda's Alphabet Challenge Blog, and this week the theme is M for Mouse. I have made another atc for my book using Tea Dye Distress Ink and a House Mouse stamp. For the background I used a Crafty Individuals Crackle stamp and House Mouse foot print stamp! I will be using my BIA to make these into a book which is why I leave the edges clear of embellishments etc!
The new challenge on Ready Steady STAMP is to make a fan and to use lace, hearts, ladies and pink, red, black and white/cream. I think I fulfilled all the requirements and enjoyed making something different! I used Crafty Individuals stamps for the ladies and crackle background, and the squiggley stamp is an Anna Griffin one. The background is inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and the red stamping is Fired Brick Distress Ink. I am also entering this for the Papertake Weekly Challenge which this week is Pretty Pink Papertake.
I am determined to make Christmas cards throughout the year to avoid the last minute rush again! I didn't get round to using this Rubbadubbadoo stamp for Christmas just gone and I love it, so have used it today, together with HOTP paper, MS snowflake punch, mats cut on my Slice and Card Candy, for the following challenges: Magical Crafts Forum - weekly Christmas card challenge which this week is Snow. Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club - just found this challenge blog, this week it is Snow. Challenge Up Your Life - again a new challenge blog to me, this week it is Ice and Snow. Fussy and Fancy - again another new challenge blog to me, and this week it is Winter.
B this week on InchybyInch and we are making an alphabet of inchies. I have stamped a butterfly and coloured it with Copics, and used Peeled Paint Distress Ink round the edges. I like to do projects like this so am looking forward to making my alphabet!
I haven't joined in with the InchybyInch challenge for a while what with one thing and another, but noticed they are working through the alphabet each week so have decided to join in again! Here is my A for Adorable inchie which was last week's letter! I used Broken China Distress Ink for the edges, and coloured in the image with fleshy Copics.
The theme on this week's Tuesday Taggers is Tag it with Birds. I used my Elusive Images stamp for this tag, and Distress Inks for the background. I stamped the edges with a Crafty Individuals crackle stamp, and added ribbon and a flower to embellish.
Lilac! This week's Alphabet Challenge is L for Lilac, and for my DT work I have made another atc for my book, and used a stamp with lace on and some paper lace I inked with Dusty Concord Distress Ink to match the background.
I have finally finished the 12th tag in Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas. The flowers were very fiddly for my poor arthritic fingers! I think I need to perfect them a bit really, but I didn't have the right sort of shapes to use. I drew a template for the greenish one, and used a Slice diecut for the reddish one. More practise needed I think!!
There is a lovely sketch to follow on this week's Winter Wonderland blog. I used my Technique Tuesday Christmas tree and text stamps for this, and BG and HOTP papers, plus Card Candy for embellishing. I am also entering this card for the weekly Christmas card challenge on Magical Crafts Forum, which this week is Christmas Trees.
I needed a card for a friend who loves black, and I wanted to use another of my lovely Kanban tree stamps. The sketch on Sketch and Stash was ideal for what I wanted. I used my new Black Market Paper Society papers, and embellished with Card Candy and a flower using a MS punch.
We are now up to K on Linda'sAlphabet Challenge Blog, and it is K for Kids, either kids on your work or something that you would give to a child! I used my Crafty Individuals stamp for my atc which I inked with Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.
Nearly done these now! This is my version of Tim's Day 11 tag. I am not as keen on this one as some of the others. I had to improvise with the deer by using the leftover as a stencil from a grungeboard one and drawing round it on grungepaper and cutting it out, colouring with Red Pepper adirondack dabber and then stamping snowflakes over it, and as I don't have the itop thingy to make the flower centres Tim used I luckily had some fabric covered brads for Christmas (thank you She!) which I used instead! Nor do I have any white rub ons so had to use my white Inkessential pen!
I set a monthly Scrapbook Challenge onCraft Swap Forum, and this is my LO for the January challenge. My granddaughter loves using the computer, well trying to anyway! So her mum got her a toy laptop so she doesn't feel left out!
The new challenge on My Time To Craft is Blue and Brown, and I made my DT card using a Kanban tree stamp which is lovely to use. I clear embossed it using Sepia Versafine ink and added some Copper stickles to it. I used a blue base card, and brown paper for the mat, and unknown paper to stamp on!
I didn't have all the metal bits and bobs Tim used for Day 10's tag, so I improvised and covered my tag in kitchen foil and alcohol inked it, then painted my grungeboard letters etc. with Silver dabber. I quite like it! 2 more tags to go and I am done!! The flash has made it look a bit wrinkly but it isn't really!
The challenge on Winter Wonderland this week is to use Cinnamon, Lime and Berry on our work. I stamped my new Penny Black Fancy Antlers stamp and coloured him in with what I hope passes for a Cinnamon colour! I used DCWV paper for the background and punched snowflakes with my MS punch.
I want to finish my 12 tags inspired by Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas, so here is my version of Tag 9! Only 3 to go so hopefully I will finish them over the next few days! I like this one, the photos are fab and the film strip ribbon is lovely to use, but not so lovely to wind back up to put it in the tin - it took me 3 goes to fit it back in!!
I am married with 3 grown up children ,4 grandchildren and 2 dogs! I have always done crafting of some sort, originally knitting, cross stitching and tapestry, then I began paper crafting some years ago and haven't looked back!
I like to take photos of my garden for scrapbooking and the one on here is a sunflower that the birds kindly planted for me!
P.S. - Now I have gone back to doing a lot of knitting, crocheting and sewing too!
