Q & L Challenge - Journey

Our two new words on The Craft Barn's Quotes & Lyrics Challenge are Journey and/or Friendship.  I chose to use Journey for my altered beer mat, but was a bit miffed when I got my Tim Holtz stamps out to use for this and found that yet another set of acrylic stamps had disintegrated - a bit of wheel fell off this one.  I won't be buying any more acrylic stamps I've decided, I've lost count of the stamps that I have had to throw away because they fall to pieces - and I do clean and store them properly!  This quote is by Drake.

The disintegrated car wheel looks fantastic Lesley, very vintage and perfect for your beer mat.

Great lyrics i am presuming by Drake? Doesn't matter whether a quote or lyric the words are full of wisdom and true:-) xxx

Another fab beer mat. I've had a few clear stamps go yellow and harden and I once ripped one trying to get it off its carrier sheet because it was stuck so fast but I haven't had any fall apart on me. Are you storing them in sunlight or near a heat source?

I've had the same problem with acrylic stamps, so made the same decision as you, and I don't buy them any more. Though I do think some brands have more problems than others. Another fab beer mat, and certainly the vintage car has just been made a little distressed!

Yes I was thinking your car just looks a little bit more distressed than it should be. It's so annoying and I don't buy them anymore either. Great beer mat - can't wait to see your whole collection at the end of the year!!

I didn't know that clear stamps desintegrated, I love the and always buy them, never had problems with them, might have to rethink that and buy rubber from now on.

Another brilliant beer mat, I knew someone would you TH and his motto...
Re clear stamps I have one set which has seriously yellowed over the last 10 years and looks like is going to fail within 12 months. Otherwise the rest hasn't moved. Difficult to tell, as well because the chemical composition varies from brand to brand and possibly from batch to batch...

I'm not much of a stamper, but every acrylic stamp I own has its own set of problems. They either refuse to budge from the carrier sheet, won't stick to anything once they are off the carrier sheet, tear when removed from the carrier sheet, or turn spongy after a few uses. Thankfully, they are ones I've bought at bargain prices or were gifted with. I'll take rubber any day.

Having said all that, I am, as always, in awe of your beer mat format, and like how you made this image and the words work for you, even in the face of adversity.

Another winning combination of image and words. Your beer mat collection must be looking faulous, how are you storing them?
Shame about your stamp, but it has added to the 'atmosphere' of your mat. I haven't experineced disintegration, but ripping and yellowing yes. I like rubber, but precision stamping is far more difficult for me, with rubber. Hmmm, pros & cons with all things. :o))

Another lovely beer mat. I do like the distressed look the car has even if it was not meant. I have lots of acrylic stamps and love them. Have used stayzon cleaner on them as that disintergrates them. I just use asda value unperfumed baby wipes.
