N for Nature

We are up to N this week on the Alphabet Challenge Blog, and I chose N for Nature as the theme.  I made my DT tag using a Paperartsy sentiment, Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the background, and a flowery stamp, Tim Holtz doodads and some butterflies punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

Ready Steady Stamp Challenge 25

We had a long list of ingredients to choose from again this time for the RSS challenge, and I went for canvas, egg shells, wings, little girl theme, acrylic paint, pink, lace and glossy accent!  I used some Claudine Hellmuth sticky canvas and stuck it over my fat book page and then painted it with Pink Sherbert and Pearl Acrylic Paint Dabbers.  I stamped a Lost Coast Designs image and cut her out and coloured her with Copics.  I used the egg shell technique down the side of my page and added some pink lace and pearls and brads to embellish.

Y is for Young

We have nearly finished our alphabet of inchies on InchybyInch - this week it is Y and I have chosen Y for Young.  I used part of a Crafty Individuals stamp for my inchie, and edged it with Mustard Seed Distress Ink (Y for Yellow!).

Moments in Bloom

For this DT card for Make The Day Special, I have again used the lovely Unity kit, Moments in Bloom.  I stamped one of the sentiments and a leaf stamp from the kit onto Basic Grey papers, and inked the edges of my card with Distress Inks.  I punched some butterflies with a MS punch and added Primas and gems to finish.  The greeting is by Penny Black.

M is for Men

Another week has flown by and we are up to M on the Alphabet Challenge Blog, and for this I chose M for Men.  For my DT card I used an Elusive Images bird stamp which I love as it reminds me of the trees that used to be in the garden at the end of ours (before their owner chopped them all down) and the birds used to sit at the top singing.  I used Distress Inks for the background to try and get the look of a sunset, and unknown bps from my stash mountain! (possibly Brenda Pinnick but not sure).

X is for ...

Xmas - although I apologise to anyone offended by the use of this word for Christmas as I know some people don't like it.   I found it very hard to find something for this letter that I had a stamp of to use for my inchie!  The images are from Crafty Individuals, and the background is Barn Door Distress Ink and the challenge of course is InchybyInch's alphabet inchies.

Check it Out

The new theme on My Time To Craft this week is Check it Out - to use checks on our work.  I used some bps by The English Paper Company for my card and a Hampton Arts flower stamp which I coloured in with Copics.  I punched the flowers and butterflies with MS punches, the leaf punch is unknown brand!

L for Lace

We are up to L this week on the Alphabet Challenge Blog, and this week I chose L for Lace as the theme.  For my DT card I used a cute little image from Paws-fur-a-Moment, and coloured her in with Copics and Promakers.  I stamped one of the flower images from the set to embellish, and used my Martha Stewart lace punch to make the lace.   The papers are by The English Paper Co. of which I found a huge pile in my craft room that I bought ages ago and am now using!

Ready-Steady-STAMP Challenge 24

The rules have changed on RSS and now we have a much longer list of ingredients and have to choose 5 of these.  The 5 I chose for my fat book page this time are cream, brown and green, Distress Inks, lion, dry embossed background and metal embellishment.  3 others that also fit are masculine, rectangle and embossing powder as I used Distress embossing powder on the lion.  The green paper is Basic Grey I think - I have terrible problems now all my craft stash is upstairs and the computer downstairs as I can't always remember the names of what I have used!  The lion stamp is by Tim Holtz, the metal embellishment is by him also, as is the embossing folder I used for the background, and I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink for the stamping, watercolouring and round the edges.

Butterfly Bliss

The new theme on My Time To Craft this week is Butterfly Bliss - to use butterflies on our work.  I run a house swap on a forum and the current theme is Butterflies, so for my DT work I have made one of the houses for that using Victorian Velvet and Bundled Sage Distress Inks for the  background, stamped with a PaperArtsy script stamp, and then I stamped the butterfly girl image (not sure who made it) and cut her out and stuck her on. The sentiment is Catslife Press.  Finally I punched some butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch.

W is for .....

Wistful!  We are up to W on the InchybyInch alphabet challenge, almost at the end!  I chose Wistful for my inchie as I thought this PaperArtsy lady looked like that!  The little bit of coloured ink is Dusty Concord Distress Ink!

Christmas in July!

It is time for a new challenge on Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge and this time we have Christmas in July as the theme!  In this heat it is difficult to think of Christmas but it is a good thing to start early on those cards!  The challenge is sponsored by Stitchy Bear, and the DT were given some images to use on our work.  The winner of this challenge will be able to pick some images as their prize from 2 artists - pop over to the blog for details!  For my DT card I chose to use the dragon image, and coloured him in with Copics and Promarkers, and used some DCWV bps and Card Candy to embellish.

Floral Friends

This card is made using an image from the Unity Floral Friends set, available from Emily at Make The Day Special.  I coloured in one of the images with Copics and used some scraps of pretty Dovecraft papers from my desk and some DCWV scraps to mat and punched flowers with an MS punch.  The centres are metallic nailheads, and the sentiment is from the {ippity} Fall for You set, also available from Emily.

Unity Friends with Flair Blog Hop

Time for the FWF blog hop again which takes place every Friday, this time I have made a 3 fold card, using stamps from the {ippity} Fall for You set and Unity Moments in Bloom, available from Emily here at Make The Day Special.  The papers I used are by My Mind's Eye from the So Sophie range with the addition of some chipboard embellishments, blooms and Card Candy.
Check out the Unity blog hop here, and if you find the blog with the blinkie and leave a comment you can be in with a chance of winning some lovely Unity stamps, as I was lucky enough to a few weeks ago!

K is for Kids

We are up to K this week on the Alphabet Challenge Blog, and I chose K for Kids for this one.  I used a digi download for this card by Lilyboo, from Cuddly Buddly.  I needed to make a card for my great-nephew so this challenge was good timing.  I don't usually do digi but have used my stamps that would have been suitable for his other birthdays so needed something different!  The image is coloured in with Copics and Promarkers, and the bp is DCWV.  The sentiment is by Penny Black, and I embellished with Card Candy.

Summer Card Kit

Which Crafts? have some fab new kits in the shop, and I have made these cards using the lovely Summer Card Kit, which has My Mind's Eye papers and fab blooms included as well as colourful cards and envelopes.  Stamps used are Sugar Nellies for the first 2, a Dawn Bibby stamp for the third and a Unity stamp for the 4th.

Angelic!

The new theme on My Time To Craft this week is Angelic - to use an angelic image on our work.  For my DT work I had to use a photo of my little granddaughter looking very angelic indeed!  I made a 6" x 6" LO using  bps whose name escapes me but I will edit later when I go upstairs and look!  I punched the lace border with a MS punch.  The letters are cut on my Cricut.

V for Violin

V this week on InchybyInch's alphabet challenge, and I had a good look through my stamps and found an image with a violin on, so used part of it for my inchie!  I coloured with Copics and used Distress Ink for the background.

Wedding Day

Our niece is getting married in a couple of weeks and when I saw the challenge on Tuesday Taggers was Wedding Day I thought it would be a good chance to get the card made without leaving it until the last minute like I usually do!  This didn't turn out how I had planned because of a smudge of ink in the wrong place, but hopefully they will like it!  I stamped my Popcorn wedding image and coloured in with Distress Inks and Copics and Promarkers!  I inked the background too, which I hadn't intended to, but I had managed to get a smudge of ink on the side so needed to cover it.  I used Joanna Sheen lacey bps and cut the mat on my Slice, finishing off with some Liquid Pearls, roses and leaves cut with a Leone Em punch.

Saturday 3 July 2010

Tea Party!

For my DT work for Make The Day Special, I have made some ATCs, or they could be used as toppers for cards, using the sweet little My Cute Stamp set called Tea Party, available from Emily hereI stamped the images with Memento and coloured them with Copics and Promarkers, and added some SU Dazzling Diamonds for a sparkly finish!

J is for Jewels

This week we are up to J on the Alphabet Challenge Blog, and I chose J for Jewels as the theme.  For my DT card I used some pretty Dovecraft bp and an Autumn Leaves flower image stamped onto a Nesties mat, which I coloured with Copics.  The greeting is by Penny Black.  I punched some butterflies with my MS punch and finished off with some jewels to embellish.
